Be Careful When Rescuing Dogs from Hot Cars

The other day I went to the store and in the parking lot I saw a small dog in a closed up van. It was 95 degrees outside so I knew it must be over 100 in that van and that dog must be dying. I’m a dog owner myself, so I got real mad. I went back to my car, took out my tire iron and broke into that van to rescue that dog. It wasn’t until I broke the side window that I saw the owner still in the van with the air conditioning on. Boy was I embarrassed. Well, the joke was on the owner; it wasn’t a little dog after all. It was a small child in a car seat wearing a hood with floppy ears that looked like a dog. I really felt silly. Live and learn I guess.
